Altiris issues licenses to its customers through a Microsoft security technology.

On August 29, 2002 Microsoft released a Critical Windows Update which is required to generate current licenses.

Please ensure you have Windows Update #Q323172 before proceeding or see the associated Microsoft Security Bulletin for more information.

Welcome to the Altiris registration site where you register your Altiris product for activation. Before continuing, please read the following:

Common Questions


Where is my registration number?
Your registration number may also be referred to as your serial number. For products purchased from Altiris or from an Altiris Partner, the Registration number is located on the back of the box. For products purchased electronically from Altiris or online, the registration number is provided in an email attachment confirming the order.

The registration number can be in one of two formats. For 20-digit alpha-numeric codes, in the form of (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx) please use the form below to start the registration process. For shorter, 16-digit alpha-numeric codes, in the form of (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx), please click here.

What if I have more than one registration number?
You must register the numbers one at a time. However, you will only need to enter your user information once. Returning customers may not be required to enter more than their email address.

I have upgraded to Notification Server 6.0. Do I need new licenses for the upgraded solutions?
All Altiris solution licenses have a built-in AUP (annual upgrade protection) date. If your license reflects an active AUP date, the existing Notification Server 5.x license will automatically allow you to upgrade to the latest version unless you are an existing Altiris Asset Management Suite Level 2 or Level 3 customer.

If you are an existing Altiris Asset Management Suite Level 2 or Level 3 customer, including the following solutions Asset Control Solution, Contract Management Solution, TCO Solution and Helpdesk Solution, you will need to exchange your licenses in return for concurrent user-based licenses. Contact your Altiris Sales Representative for questions or concerns regarding the license exchange.
